Drawing

This function allows you to draw a solid quad (filled 4-sided object) by indicating the four vertices of the quad.

Vertices should be drawn in an anti-clockwise order to assure that they look correct in the Render View.

Unlike a 3D face, a quad can have a thickness.

Procedure

To draw filled 4-sided objects (solid quad):

  1. Select Draw ► 3D Face ► Solid Quad or click the icon in the Drawing toolbar.

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate first point of the solid quad

  1. Click in the drawing to indicate the first vertex of the quad.

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate next point of the solid quad (in anticlockwise order facing you)

You will not see anything until the second vertex is indicated by clicking or pressing [Enter] in the required position.

  1. Move the cursor, in an anti-clockwise direction, to the position of the second point and click to indicate the point.

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate next point of the solid quad (in anticlockwise order facing you)

  1. A filled triangle is visible when the cursor is moved.

  1. Move the cursor, in an anti-clockwise direction, to the position of the third point and click to indicate the point.

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate next point of the solid quad (in anticlockwise order facing you)

  1. A filled quad is visible when the cursor is moved.

  1. Move the cursor to the position of the final point and click or press [Enter] to indicate the point. The solid quad is added to the drawing and the function repeats.

  1. You can right-click on the drawing and select Quit to end the drawing at any stage. Alternatively, press [Esc]. Select Cancel to end the current drawing but continue with the function.

  1. If you select Cancel, you will be able to start entering the points again.

  2. The solid quad can be given a thickness in the Properties Bar.
