Trim Length

Trim the length of an indicated line entity.

This function allows you to trim or extend a line entity to a specified length.

Select the entity to modify and the current length of the entity is given. Type in the new length of the entity and press [Enter] or click Enter .

Select the entity on the side you want to keep.

Procedure

1. You are prompted to:

Indicate line entity to trim length (Click near end point to keep fixed)

2. Position the cursor near the end of the line entity in the drawing to remain fixed, and then press [Enter] or click.

3. You are prompted to:

The current length of the line is given.

4. Enter the new length for the line entity in the bar.

5. Press [Enter] or click Enter to trim the length of the indicated line entity.

6. The function repeats.

7. Right-click and select Quit to end the function. Alternatively, press [Esc].
