Geometry

This function allows you to draw one or more geometry circle(s) by entering the centre point, selecting if you would like to use radius or diameter, and inputting a value for the size of the circle.

Geometry lines are infinite lines that never print or plot, and are seen in all layers. To change the appearance of all geometry, see Geometry Settings under System Settings.

Procedure

To draw a geometry circle giving the radius or diameter:

  1. Select Geometry ► Circles ► Centre + Rad/Diam, or click the icon in the Geometry toolbar.

  2. You are prompted to:

A geometry circle with the current settings appears on the screen.

  1. You can select to draw the circle by Radius or Diameter.

  1. Input the value for the circle and press [Enter] or click Enter .

The circle is now shown at the required size on the screen.

  1. Position the cursor in the required centre point and press [Enter] or click to insert the geometry circle. You can use one of the Snap or Jump functions to position the centre point in the required position.

  1. The function repeats and you can continue to draw circles with this option. You can change the value and draw circles of different sizes. You can also draw a number of circles at one time by entering the radius or diameters separated by a space.

  1. When you press [Enter] or click Enter, you see all the circles.

  1. Right-click and select Quit to end the function. Alternatively, press [Esc].
