This function allows you to move one or more entities in a drawing in front of another entity. First select the entities to be moved and then indicate the entity that the selection set must move in front of.

The selected entities may only appear to be at the front after you have performed a Refresh or a Redraw.

Procedure

  1. Select the entity to be moved in front of another entity by clicking on it or dragging a selection box around it. You can also use the standard selection functions, including Select All, Select by Polygon, Select by Filter and Invert Selection, to create the required selection of entities you want to save. If nothing is selected and you try to move it, AllyCAD displays the following message.

  1. This diagram shows the original drawing with the circle at the back, the triangle in the middle and the square in the front.

  1. Select the circle.

  1. Move the entity to in front of the triangle by selecting Edit ► Draw Order ► Move before Entity or clicking the icon in the Draw Order toolbar.

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate entity in front of which the selection set will be moved

  1. Position the cursor over the entity, in this example the triangle, and press [Enter] or click.

  2. The selected entity now appear in front of the indicated entity in the drawing. The circle is now moved between the triangle and the square.

You may be required to perform a Redraw before the entities actually appear to be moved.
