3D Shapes

This function allows you to draw a "polyface" mesh that fills a region that has been specified by a hatch. This is useful for generating surface meshes with holes in them.

Mesh entities are always drawn with CONTINUOUS line type.

Procedure

To draw a mesh surface between two curved entities:

  1. Select Draw ► Meshed Solids ► Surfaces ► Tesselate, or click the icon in the 3D Shapes toolbar.

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate hatch to tesselate

  1. Click on any hatch in the drawing.

  1. A polyface mesh, covering the area filled by the hatch, is added to the drawing.

The Tesselate function does not work with very complex boundaries/regions.
