This function allows you to draw a polygon mesh between two existing curve entities in the drawing.

Mesh entities are always drawn with CONTINUOUS line type.

Procedure

To draw a mesh surface between two curved entities:

  1. Select Draw ► Meshed Solids ► Surfaces ► Ruled Surface, or click the icon in the 3D Shapes toolbar.

  2. You are prompted to:

Indicate first entity

  1. Click on any entity in the drawing. The entity you indicated will be highlighted.

  1. You are prompted to:

Indicate second entity

  1. As you move the mouse over other entities in the drawing, a preview mesh is drawn between the highlighted entity, and the entity the mouse is over.

  1. You can also specify the "resolution", or number of mesh segments used to represent the ruled surface, by changing the Segs X in the CAD Bar. A reasonable value for "Segs X" is 16, but values between 2 and 200 are accepted.

  2. Click on any entity in the drawing besides the highlighted entity. The mesh representing the "ruled surface" between the two entities is added to the drawing.
