Dimensions

Survey dimensions are intended for the dimensioning of cadastral plans.

For other uses, the bearing part of the dimension may cause confusion, because it does not necessarily match a polar move. The bearing depends on the format above/below style property and will change accordingly if this property is changed.

Survey dimensions have their own Survey Dimension settings, including options to define the number of decimals according to the distance between the measured points.

You can override both the bearing and distance values using the Properties Bar.

The survey dimensions use the current pen colour.

Procedure

  1. You are prompted to:

Indicate start position of dimension

  1. You can click or press [Enter] over the desired start position by moving the cursor to the point, jumping to the desired point or use the snaps to move to the desired position.

  1. You are prompted to:

Indicate end position of dimension

  1. A rubberbanded preview of the dimension is drawn. The dimension aligns itself between the two indicated points.

  1.  The function repeats and the next dimension rubberbands.

  1. You are prompted to:

Indicate end position of dimension

  1. You can add chained survey dimensions by indicating a new end point.

  1. Right-click and select Cancel to discontinue with the current alignment and continue dimensioning using a new starting point. Alternatively, select Quit or press [Esc] to end the function completely.

You can override both the distance and bearing value using the Properties Bar.
