Dimensions

This function allows you to add an arc length dimension to the drawing by indicating the centre point of the arc to be dimensioned, the start and end points of the length measurement, and where the dimension text must be placed.

Arc length dimensions can be:

Dimensions use the current line style.

Procedure

  1. You are prompted to:

  1. Select the dimension style from the dropdown list. The Dimension Styles can be easily changed by clicking the icon next to the dropdown list.

You can click Pick to copy dimension settings from an existing dimension entity.

  1. Select the Text override checkbox if you want to be able to edit the dimension text.

  2. Position the cursor near the centre point of the arc and press [Enter] or click.

  1. You are prompted to indicate the start of the arc length measurement.

  1. Click the first point of the arc length measurement.

  1. Indicate the end point of the arc length you want to dimension.

This can be any point on the arc or the end of the arc itself.

  1. You are prompted to:

  1. A rubberbanded preview of the dimension is drawn and you can move the mouse to indicate the dimension offset.

  1. Press [Enter] or click in the drawing to indicate the final position of the text.

If you have selected the Text override option, you will be prompted to type over the text.

  1. The function repeats.

  2. Right-click and select Quit to end the function. Alternatively, press [Esc].

  1. While inserting the dimension, you can right-click and select Cancel to discontinue with the current dimension and indicate a new arc. You are again prompted to indicate a arc or polyline arc segment to dimension.

Select Quit or press [Esc] to end the function completely.
